Little Time For Congressional Primaries

Here is what we know about the 2012 Congressional primaries:

In MS-01, Henry Ross- who finished second to Alan Nunnelee two years ago- is looking for another match with Nunnelee. Of course at that time Nunnelee wasn’t also the incumbent as he is today. But we know Ross feels this now plays into his favor this time around. Still, it will be an uphill climb. As for general election opponents, former Rep. Travis Childers is certainly still the big name but I don’t know if he’d bother considering the margin of victory for Nunnelee last November. There are also plenty of legislative and county Democrats- even Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley- in the area, but they will certainly face long odds. And have little time to make up their mind. The plus side: don’t have to give up your current seat to run.
