Bryant-DuPree debate planned for Oct. 14

Republican Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant and Hattiesburg Democratic Mayor Johnny DuPree are expected to tackle issues like education, the state’s economy and health care during an Oct. 14 gubernatorial debate hosted by the Mississippi College School of Law.

Coming less than a month before the Nov. 8 general election, the 90-minute program will be televised statewide by WLBT-Channel 3. The event at the law school in downtown Jackson begins at 7 p.m.

Bryant and DuPree were among seven Mississippi gubernatorial candidates appearing at a July 21 debate hosted by the MC law school and aired statewide by WLBT. They went on to win their respective party primaries.
