Comments from some Mississippi gov candidates
PHILADELPHIA, Miss. — Comments from gubernatorial candidates Thursday at the Neshoba County Fair:
– Republican Ron Williams, a businessman from Moss Point, said when he started campaigning seven months ago, people referred to him as “old what’s-his-name.” He said he believes his campaign against entrenched special interests is catching voters’ attention. “They’re starting to get worried that old ‘what’s his name’ might actually make it to Jackson.”
– Republican Hudson Holliday of Poplarville, a Pearl River County supervisor and retired major general of the Mississippi Army National Guard, said he has owned and operated several private businesses. “I’ve created more businesses than all the other Republicans put together, bar none. And I think you could even throw the Democrats in there with them…. I know what business is about. I know how government affects you.”
