Jackson lawyer awaiting confirmation for U.S. attorney post
A Jackson lawyer who specializes in civil litigation is awaiting confirmation by the U.S. Senate to become the next U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Gregory K. Davis was nominated by President Barack Obama on Wednesday.
“Greg is a great lawyer, and he has a very good temperament for the position,” said Thandi Wade, immediate past president of the Magnolia Bar Association. “He’s very detailed and very professional, and he has a lot of experience.”
Davis co-founded Davis, Goss & Williams in 1989. Before that, he worked for the Stamps & Stamps law firm from 1987-89. He was unavailable for comment on Thursday.
