Hosemann discusses panel’s ruling
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said there was only one winner after a federal, three-judge panel cleared the way Monday for state-wide legislative races to be held under current voting districts.
“If you want to pick a winner – to me, it was the state Constitution,” Hosemann said Tuesday during a meeting with the Hattiesburg American editorial board.
Earlier this year, the Legislature failed to reach an agreement on new voting districts following the release of 2010 U.S. Census figures.
