20-year deal set by ailing Metrocenter, city
The announced resurrection of Metrocenter mall grew a little more real Thursday, as city officials and contractors celebrated a 20-year agreement to move city services now located at the Medical Mall and old Atmos building to the west Jackson building that was on the verge of becoming the city’s largest dust bin.
“A lot of people have given up on Metrocenter,” Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr. said. “But this signals a new day for Metrocenter.”
Not to mention for a lot of city employees.
