Despite poll numbers, Dave Dennis confident in his race for governor
The latest poll may be cause for worry for some candidates, but not Dave Dennis. Trailing Lt. Governor Phil Bryant by about 20 points, Dennis says he’s right where he wants to be.
“What we’re doing is zeroing in on the counties that have the most impact, literally 12 to 15 counties that represent almost 90 percent of the republican vote in the state of Mississippi,” Dennis said. “That’s where we are. That’s where we are concentrating and our numbers reflect extremely good progress.”
Speaking before more than 200 people, Dennis touted his non-political background.
“There’s a clear choice between a career politician, career bureaucrat and private sector success in business credential people. That’s who we are,” Dennis said. “The governor of Mississippi is the CEO for the state of Mississippi.”
