Arts funding important to health, well-being

The Mississippi Arts Commission may not be considered by some to be a part of the core function of government, but the arts are at the heart of the core function of being human.

A well-rounded student becomes a contributing citizen, and every parent wants their child to thrive in school and excel throughout their lifetime.

If we as parents accept continued reduction of arts learning opportunities, we run the risk of producing workers with diminished ability to think analytically, communicate effectively or work collaboratively in this dynamic global economy.
