Tuesday Morning Political Notebook
A couple quick political notes as we get ready for the redistricting showdown.
** Over the weekend, the Mississippi Democratic Party opted to leave Bill Luckett on the ballot for governor despite some late questions about his residency. They did not permit perennial candidate Shawn O’Hara to run for treasurer on the Democratic ticket. O’Hara has qualified for the same office as a Reform Party candidate.
** The Mississippi Democrats also announced that they support the public sector union workers in Wisconsin. Here is their statement: “The Mississippi Democratic Party stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters- working families throughout the country- who are struggling against a coordinated and systematic effort to deprive them of their rights to organize and collectively bargain.”
