RNC leader calls Barbour ‘real hero to Republicans’
In one of his first official trips since becoming head of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus traveled to Mississippi on Tuesday to praise Gov. Haley Barbour and the GOP.
“I believe that we’re in a battle for our freedom in this country and Republicans are leading the way,” he told a crowd of supporters in Jackson.
Wisconsin-native Priebus, 38, was elected to lead the RNC on Jan. 14. He took the appearance as an opportunity to rebuke Democrats and tout the GOP’s efforts to unseat President Barack Obama next year.
