Transportation Commissioner special election in northern district is Tuesday
It’s a battle between two Republicans, that once again highlights the east/west geographic and demographic issues that Nash and I have addressed before.
Mike Tagert (no relation, name spelled different) of Starkville heads the Tenn-Tom Waterway Council — intermodal transportation for sure. John Caldwell of Nesbit runs the DeSoto County School District’s transportation division — busing kids to school every day.
Neither candidate had raised the most money of those in the first go-round, but here they are now, and one will be elected on Tuesday.
