Nunnelee talks about adjusting to life in DC

“In Jackson, I served with 52 senators, and in D.C. I’m working with 435 people. All this business is driven by relationships, and you have to get to know people, their families and their interests. And when you multiply that by 435, it’s a lot of relationships,” Rep. Nunnelee said, interrupted by a few nearby cows during the interview.

That interruption is why the congressman was in Lee County Friday — to participate in a livestock show with 4-H students — his way of maintaining those relationships in his home state.

Rep. Nunnelee said that kind of connection is something that will continue while he’s in Washington; it’s a place he feels he can make a lot of progress.
