MIM Election Round-Up

Governor: Chris Cilliza at The Fix has a rundown of 2011 races across the country, and gives his opinion of the Mississippi governor’s race: “The Republican primary may well be the entire game in the Magnolia State race to succeed term limited Gov. Haley Barbour.”

Governor: Hudson Holliday, a Republican candidate from Pearl River county, is planning to kick off his campaign on Thursday at a rally in his hometown of Poplarville. He filed papers to qualify on Thursday.

Attorney General: Department of Public Safety Commissioner Steven Simpson formally announced that he would be running for Attorney General as a Republican today, the first Republican to do so. Jim Hood’s refusal to bring suit on behalf of the state over healthcare reform came up today, and I imagine we will hear that many times on the campaign trail by Simpson.

Majority in Miss.
