Today, Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree will make it official that he wants to become the next governor of Mississippi.
In a letter released on his campaign website: “We’re not going to make a big fuss, but we do want to mark this special occasion with family and friends.”
DuPree will make the announcement at 9 a.m. at the Cultural Center on Main Street.
The former executive director of the Mississippi Democratic Party, Sam Hall, is heading up DuPree’s run for the state’s highest office as his campaign manager.
