Sen. Doug Davis, R-Hernando, the new chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee said the year 2011 is shaping up better financially than originally forecast, though it’s still going to be a lean year.
“December numbers are coming in, so we still don’t know final numbers, but four of the last five months we’ve been in the black instead of the red,” Davis said during a rare break from legislative committee work.
“In November, we are $22 million above the sine die estimate of revenue projections,” he said, referring to estimates of what total revenue collections might look like when the legislature adjourned for the 2010 session.
