Mississippi unemployment blues continues
Webb Bufkin had 20 years’ worth of experience in outside sales when he found himself without a job. And then he landed on his feet.
The Ridgeland resident works as a sales associate at the used car chain CarMax, which has nine job openings at its Jackson store. The company is recruiting 1,200 jobs nationally.
Bufkin, who’s been on the sales floor for four months, spent Wednesday afternoon training a new colleague hired four days ago.
“I was actively looking for probably two months,” he said. “The labor market is not what it once was. The opportunities aren’t what they were two, three years ago.
