Posey Makes Party Switch Official

At a press conference today with Republican leaders, Public Service Commissioner for the Central District Lynn Posey announced he was switching to the GOP. Posey, a former state Senator, won his first term on the PSC in 2007.

With the switch, Republicans now have a 2-1 advantage on the commission. Leonard Bentz, from the Southern District, is a Republican. Brandon Presley, from the Northern District, is a Democrat.

Along with Presley, the last elected Democratic state officials are Attorney General Jim Hood and Southern District Transportation Commissioner Wayne Brown. Brown, however, is not running for re-election.
