Most of the focus on our upcoming statewide races has been on the brewing GOP primary battles for governor and lieutenant governor. Those two races certainly will garner most of the media and money attention as we zero in on a March 1 qualifying deadline, but some of the down ballot races will produce outstanding fields of candidates, also.
For now, here’s a look at names percolating around on the Republican side for State Treasurer, all premised on the near-certainty that the incumbent will be a candidate for Lt. Gov:
