DuPree named grand marshal of MLK Day Parade
Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree has been named grand marshal of the 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade.
The parade will start at 11 a.m. Jan. 15 in downtown Laurel.
The award recognizes those who have made a significant contribution in the area of race relations, justice, human rights and positive leadership. The person also should help keep the memory and vision of King alive in the Pine Belt.
