HUD secretary, governor to announce housing program

HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, Gov. Haley Barbour and Reilly Morse, senior attorney for the Mississippi Center for Justice, are expected to announce a $132 million housing program at 9 this morning at the Isaiah Fredericks Community Center in Gulfport.
The state will direct more than $92 million in Community Development Block Grant money from Hurricane Katrina to low- and moderate-income residents in South Mississippi who are still trying to repair or reconstruct their hurricane-damaged homes, and to households seeking permanent residency in Mississippi cottages.
