Masoli’s status in question for today’s matchup with Vols
If not, the Rebels will again go with backup quarterback Nathan Stanley, who passed sparingly against the Ragin’ Cajuns, helping Ole Miss win 43-21. A victory over the Vols (3-6, 0-5) could go a long way in helping Ole Miss play in a bowl game for the third consecutive season.
Ole Miss had lost 12 straight against Tennessee before last year’s game in Oxford, when Dexter McCluster rushed for 282 yards and four touchdowns, sending the Rebels to a 42-17 victory. Of course, McCluster now plays for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, and the Rebels have struggled to find an offensive identity since his departure.
