He will have to. Not because he is ready. Not because his game is tailor- made to the next level. Not because his skills would not benefit from the extra year improving fundamentally. Not because he is a perfect fit for some NFL team. No, Newton has to go for the same reason that Jake Locker should have gone in 2010: there will be nowhere for him to go but down.
