Travis Childers: “No Parties” Come Ahead of North Mississippi
New ads highlight Childers’ independence and major endorsements, compare Childers’ and Nunnelee’s records on pay raises
Booneville, MS – Childers for Congress has aired two new television advertisements for the 2010 campaign. In one ad entitled “No Parties,” Travis Childers talks directly to the camera, comparing his independent record of cutting taxes and fighting pay raises with State Senator Alan Nunnelee’s failed record of raising taxes and taking big pay raises. In the second ad, entitled “Lauren,” Childers’ daughter shares the truth about her dad’s independence.
Both ads also highlight Childers’ major endorsements from organizations committed to protecting North Mississippi values, including the NRA and the National Right to Life, as well as pro-business groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Realtors.

TRAVIS:
I’m Travis Childers. The leaders of both parties in Washington are out of touch.
But I’m independent. I voted against Nancy Pelosi’s agenda 267 times.
I’ve also cut taxes, while Alan Nunnelee raised our taxes.
I voted against a pay raise for myself, while Nunnelee took big pay raises.
The NRA, National Right to Life, and the major pro-business groups strongly endorse me.
I’m Travis Childers. I approve this message because that’s where I stand.
Watch “Lauren” online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrxeVsP4_hY. Below is a transcript:
LAUREN:
You’ve heard a lot about my dad, Travis Childers.
TRAVIS:
…And not all of it good.
LAUREN:
But I’m focused on the truth.
The truth is Travis Childers is independent.
But don’t take our word for it.
He was ranked one of the most independent Members of Congress.
That’s why he’s endorsed by the NRA and National Right to Life.
TRAVIS:
And I’m proud of that.
LAUREN:
He keeps his promises…as a dad and as a congressman.
TRAVIS:
I’m Travis Childers and I approve this message because I thought this was my commercial.
LAUREN:
Daddy, it was.
