AS MUCH AS it pains me, I finally have come to agree with Lou Holtz on something. Of course, as I have long contended, it is difficult to give credence to anything Holtz says.
The former South Carolina football coach and current ESPN “analyst” picks USC to win every game every season, just as he does with Notre Dame. You might also recall that Holtz said Notre Dame would win the 2009 national championship. The Fighting Irish finished 6-6.
So when Holtz says USC has a chance to defeat No. 1-ranked Alabama on Saturday, the natural reaction should be to shrug your shoulders and move on.
