Stanley learns to bide time as backup QB
So it’s understandable that Stanley, billed in the summer as the Rebels’ likely go-to quarterback, isn’t in the best of moods. But the sophomore said all the right things here after Wednesday’s practice, when he spoke publicly for the first time since Masoli became the starter in the Rebels’ Sept. 11 win at Tulane.
“I’m the backup now,” he said, responding to a question about whether a two-quarterback system had been explored. “As far as my approach, like I said, taking in what I can and just being ready if my number’s called.”
