One News Now – MS Dem, Gene Taylor, politically desperate, trying to hide

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 30, 2010

NRCC spokesman says Dems are running from Pelosi record

Mississippi Democrat Gene Taylor recently told The Hill: “My ideal candidate for speaker would be Ike Skelton.” That suggestion reflects a broader sentiment among conservative-leaning Democrats that Pelosi is too liberal and might not win unanimous support from the Caucus in 2011, even if the Democrats are able to hold on to the House in November. The Hill says Taylor is among a handful of House Democrats who have not committed to voting for Pelosi as speaker the next time around.

Greg Blair, deputy press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, thinks Democrats are running from the Pelosi record.

“It is a sign that the Democratic agenda that has taken hold in Washington over the last 20-plus months is a failure in the eyes of the American people,” he decides. “People are fed up with it; they don’t want anything to do with it. And now the people who put this agenda in place are trying to hide from it.”
