LSU backup quarterback Jarrett Lee incited a quarterback controversy, at least among some fans, when he led the Tigers to a late-game scoring drive Saturday

His one pass completion, a 16-yarder, was followed by an explosive 65-yard touchdown run by Stevan Ridley in LSU’s 27-3 win over Vanderbilt.

So couple that with Jordan Jefferson’s performance, which could be labeled as one of the worst of his career (8-of-20 passing for 96 yards with one interception), LSU coach Les Miles had to know he’d face the question: Is there a quarterback controversy entering the Tigers’ home opener against Mississippi State?

No, Miles said Monday, Jefferson remains LSU’s starter.
