State’s focus now shifts totally to Auburn

STARKVILLE — Leon Berry paused when hearing the question, then smiled. No use trying to deny it after that.
Yes, the Mississippi State wide receiver said, it was a bit of a challenge in recent days focusing on Memphis when everyone knew No. 22 Auburn was coming five days later for a Thursday night in ESPN’s national spotlight.
“Kind of,” Berry said after his five-catch night that included a touchdown in Mississippi State’s 49-7 win over Memphis. “This is a big game for us. We’ve been emphasizing it a lot.”
