Mullen: QB Chris Relf not injured
There’s nothing like a little mystery surrounding the starting quarterback going into the season opener.
According to teammates, Mississippi State quarterback Chris Relf has an injured finger, but coach Dan Mullen wasn’t interested in expanding on that during his press conference Monday.
In fact, he offered up an injury report toward the beginning of his press conference and didn’t include Relf. When asked specifically about Relf, Mullen said, “I gave the injury report, and he’s not injured.”
Relf wasn’t available to the media Monday during interviews, and he also missed Fan Day last Saturday. But Mullen said he excused Relf to go home because of a “personal family deal.”
