In less than a week, college football teams across the country will put themselves and their reputations on the line. Therefore, so should we.

With the season nearly upon us, here are a half dozen predictions about how 2010 will go:
Texas won’t play in a Bowl Championship Series game this season.
Texas has one of the youngest teams in the Big 12. The Longhorns ranked only third-best in the conference in yardage margin last season. Their star quarterback and most effective rusher (who, of course, were the same guy) graduated. Yet there they are, ranked fifth in the Associated Press poll and fourth in the coaches’ ranking.
