It’s been a while, but we told you back in early June that folks representing Trustmark Park in Pearl had inquired about hosting the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament. (And in early May, we told you about Memphis’ inquiries, too.)

Just last week, we let you know that the NCAA’s stance on Mississippi’s flag would be a factor the SEC would consider in awarding the bid.

In today’s Birmingham News, Jon Solomon expounds on the process and paints the picture of the entire group of competition.
