Football Writers Association may award Auburn with 2004 national title
Steve Richardson, the executive director of the Football Writers Association of America, told reporters in Irvine, Texas, on Monday that the organization may take away the 2004 national title it awarded to USC and give it to Auburn.
“I wouldn’t say we’re definitely going to do that, but it’s a possibility,“ Richardson told the media horde at the Big 12 conference football preview. “As we survey the scene, we have an opportunity to consider for the first time of vacating, in the modern era, a national championship.“
