SEC coaches demand alterations to ‘filthy business’

The next question: How to fix it? Slive, one of the most powerful figures in college sports, says it’s time for the NCAA and NFL to sit down together and find solutions. There are good agents and bad agents, and there are players who follow the rules and players with their hands out.

But, Slive said, there has to be a coordinated effort to find a solution. Among the ideas suggested at SEC Media Days:

Education in addition to enforcement. Currently, the NCAA’s focus with agents is enforcement after the fact. Slive wants to put together a “national agent strategy” among the commissioners of the 11 Division I-A football conferences to “evaluate potential opportunities for a career in professional sport.”
