Wicker wants Delphi investigated for giving preferential treatment to Union employees
A Mississippi senator has introduced legislation that would require the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct an investigation into how a former General Motors subsidiary apparently gave preferential treatment to union employees over non-union workers.
Republican Roger Wicker has been curious about the way Delphi Automotive has used government bailout money to restore the pensions of its union retirees while overlooking that of its non-union counterparts.
“Restoring pensions for union retirees of Delphi and not restoring the pensions for non-union counterparts — that is what is unfair,” he contends. “There is really no way to sugarcoat this. This administration has been very, very interested in playing favorites with people with union retirements.”
