CL – School mergers plan still debated
More than six months after being tagged to make statewide school consolidation recommendations to Gov. Haley Barbour, members of the commission are using words like “disaster” and “trouble” to describe the proposals.
The educational structure commission is still trying to put together a final list of options.
At a meeting Monday, commission members focused on the possible fallout of forced consolidation.
Some commission members said they could not support some of the six recommendations the company they hired presented.
