Vote to narrow Ole Miss mascot list begins Monday

The Ole Miss Mascot Selection Committee has received more than 1,000 mascot idea submissions. The list will be narrowed to 11 after the online voting ends July 5.

The vote is open to students, staff, faculty, football season ticket holders and members of the alumni association. They’ll choose among the mascot suggestions on a website, using a code.

There will be a separate page for the public to view the submissions, said Ty New, an Ole Miss senior from Olive Branch and co-chairman of the selection committee.
