Varnado ‘relieved’ after drafted by Heat at No. 41

Varnado rested his chin on his hands or slumped in his chair for most of Thursday’s NBA Draft, but he allowed himself a small smile when the Miami Heat selected him at pick No. 41.

He needed to save all of his smiles for the more than 100 guests at “Swat’s Block Party” held at the Double Tree Hotel in Jackson, smiling for the seemingly endless line of pictures.
