SEC still tops despite upcoming expansions
While the college football landscape was undergoing a makeover over the past week, the debate over which conference is the best got clouded.
Until teams started leaving the Big 12 like rats from a sinking ship, the SEC was clearly the best football conference. It had the biggest fan base, the most national titles, the most coaches with national championship rings and the most players drafted by the NFL. Now all those numbers get skewed with questions over which conference gets credit for what.
