Childers Supports Toyota Plant’s Plans to Move Forward in Blue Springs

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Travis Childers (MS-01) released the following statement regarding Toyota’s announcement that it will resume work on its Blue Springs plant. Childers attended Toyota’s announcement event this afternoon.

“Toyota’s announcement is great news for Mississippi and the First District. The Blue Springs plant, which will directly create an estimated 2,000 new jobs in North Mississippi, will contribute significantly to our local and state economies. The plant’s construction, and production set to start in the fall of 2011, will also attract new businesses to the area, indirectly creating even more jobs. I look forward to the plants progress and will continue to support endeavors that promote job creation and economic development in Mississippi’s First District.”
