SEC spring meetings: ‘Saban Rule’ bumped

An effort spearheaded by Alabama to reverse legislation barring head coaches from evaluating prospects on location during April and May — identified informally as the “Saban Rule” — dissipated here this week.

Coaches participated in a straw poll during their meeting Wednesday, and though official results weren’t revealed publicly, no related proposals were forwarded to the league’s athletic directors for discussion Thursday.
