Sherrill, NCAA continue to battle
CANTON — More than half a decade after former Mississippi State football coach Jackie Sherrill filed a lawsuit against the NCAA and a Ridgeland woman he claims conspired with the NCAA to push him out of coaching, the case continues.
Recent developments include a counterclaim against Sherrill filed by the NCAA, a Jan. 14 deposition of the coach and sparring over a subpoena for Sherrill’s medical records.
Though the counterclaim is apparently sealed, attorneys’ responses to the claim entered in the case file at the Madison County Circuit Clerk’s office shed some light as to its contents.
