SALTER – Katrina response wasn’t Bush’s fault, Oil Spill response isn’t Obama’s

Obama’s not stopping the flow of the oil leak fast enough. It’s Obama’s fault, right? No.

Hurricane Katrina and the resulting debacle in New Orleans was no more Bush’s “fault” than the ongoing oil spill is Obama’s fault.

But in a sense, the oil spill is becoming Obama’s Katrina – because the irrationality of the attacks on him regarding this industrial disaster is beginning to mirror the irrationality of the attacks on Bush from a natural disaster.

Want to blame someone? Blame BP and Transocean. You break it, you bought it.

But lame blame games won’t clean up a drop of oil or get Mississippians dependent on a clean Gulf for the livings made whole a bit faster.
