Gov Barbour, MSGOP Chairman White to welcome 50th Republican House Member
Jackson, Miss. – Governor Haley Barbour and Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Brad White welcome the 50th Republican in the Mississippi House of Representatives at a press conference on Monday, May 10, at the MSGOP headquarters in Jackson. The conservative legislator will announce his switch from the Democratic to the Republican Party. This will be the 10th elected Mississippi Democratic official who has switched to the GOP since the Inauguration of President Barack Obama, and the second legislator to do so.
