Chris McDaniel chosen Citizen of the Year

LAUREL — His compassion, generosity, Christian values, and desire to help make this country the best that it can be are among the attributes that earned State Senator Chris McDaniel (R-Ellisville) the title of “Citizen of the Year.”

During the Laurel Leader-Call’s annual “Unsung Heroes” celebration at the Train Depot Thursday, McDaniel was recognized for his outstanding leadership and service to the community.

Perhaps one of the most important things McDaniel wants people to understand is his commitment to God, his family and his country. When LL-C Publisher Skippy Haik announced McDaniel as the recipient of the “Citizen of the Year” award, an emotional McDaniel said he was humbled by the honor.

“I can’t tell you how much this means to me,” McDaniel said. “This is one of the highest honors I’ve received.

“I am so blessed to live in such a loving and caring community.”
