MCGLOWAN APPLAUDS VOTER EFFORT IN REACHING OUT TO HOOD
Implores Voters to Re-Double Their Efforts to Encourage Hood to Join Lawsuit Challenging the Constitutionality of “Obama-Care””
Oxford, MS – Former Fox News political analyst and TEA Party speaker Angela McGlowan, the pro-life, pro-gun, anti-tax, anti-wasteful government spending conservative Republican running to represent Mississippians in the 1st congressional district, today applauded voters for calling on Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood to join the 13 other state Attorney Generals who filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the health care reform bill signed into law by President Barack Obama. McGlowan, who earlier this week advised Hood not to fear Obama, but to heed the voices of the Mississippian for whom Hood worked, continued to rally Mississippians and asked voters to re-double their efforts to contact Hood in light of his request for more time to review Obama-care.
“Yesterday, Attorney General Jim Hood asked for more time before Mississippi commits to join the multi-state lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Obama-Care. I applaud the efforts of the thousands of Mississippi voters who let Jim Hood know that the overwhelming majority of our state does not support Obama-Care,” McGlowan said. “Your voice has given General Hood pause. While he is reflecting on this matter, now is the time to re-double our efforts. We must continue to call, fax, and email Jim Hood to encourage him to step up to the plate on behalf of all Mississippians and take a stand against Obama-Care.”

On Sunday, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed a health care reform bill that will raise taxes and force individuals to purchase health insurance.
On Tuesday, Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum was joined by 12 Attorney Generals in filing the first lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the new legislation
Governor Haley Barbour called on Hood to respond by noon yesterday as to whether Mississippi will join the lawsuit.
Hood responded to Barbour with a letter requesting more time to review the health care bill.
