Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams says she was encouraged by her meetings with U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson and Mississippi’s U.S. senators during a recent weeklong trip to Washington.
McAdams, who ran as an independent, worked both aisles of the Capitol. “They said they would work for Greenwood,” she said.
The mayor said the delegation was familiar with the city’s ongoing problem with aging infrastructure, most notably the recently collapsed sewer line that cost upwards of $100,000 to repair.
“They already knew a little bit about it because they bring up the Commonwealth online every day,” she said.
