Bulldogs showed across-the-board improvement in virtually every statistical category in 2009, John Cohen’s first season as Mississippi State University head baseball coach. Batting averages and fielding percentages climbed and staff earned run averages dropped en route to a 25-29 finish that, over the final two weekends of the campaign, included three wins in six games played against top 10-ranked opponents.
Even more dramatic progress is projected for the 2010 as Mississippi State builds toward a position of prominence once again on college baseball’s national scene.
