Ole Miss To Hire Rader As Offensive Coordinator
January 27, 2009–Tulsa, Okla–FOX23 Sports has learned that Ole Miss is expected to name Dave Rader as the Rebels next offensive coordinator.
FOX23 Sports Director Steve Layman spoke with Rader Wednesday. The former Tulsa coach said, “he can’t comment on the situation”, but did not deny having communication with the school. Rader has previously expressed interest in returning to college coaching.
Rader spent 12 seasons at TU head coach from 1988-1999, compiling a record of 49-80-1. He also played quarterback at Tulsa.
His last coaching job was as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2003-2005.
This would be Rader’s fourth stint coaching in the SEC. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Alabama from 1983-85. He also spent one season as an assistant at Mississippi State before returning to coach TU.
