Jeffcoat, McNeill, Leavitt mentioned for assistant opening at Oklahoma
Oklahoma lost defensive line coach Chris Wilson to Mississippi State this weekend. The opening on Bob Stoops staff makes for some interesting speculation on who could be Wilson’s replacement.
One of three possibilities mentioned by the Daily Oklahoman, is Houston defensive line coach Jim Jeffcoat, who just happens to be the father of one of the nation’s top defensive line prospects. Jackson Jeffcoat is currently deciding among his final schools that includes Oklahoma and Texas. Jackson’s twin sister Jacqueline is already committed to play basketball for the Sooners.
Another candidate could be former Texas Tech defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill. After Mike Leach was fired, McNeill served as interim coach as the Red Raiders beat Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl before being left off of Tommy Tuberville’s staff.
