Report: USC Sends Jack Del Rio a Contract

This just in: Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News, who broke the story of Pete Carroll’s resignation yesterday, has reported that USC has sent Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Jack Del Rio, a contract to be the next head coach at USC.

Del Rio, an All-American linebacker at USC and MVP of the 1985 Rose Bowl, is meeting with Jaguar officials Tuesday morning to determine his coaching status in Jacksonville. He has $15 million remaining on his contract.

Del Rio spent 11 seasons as a linebacker in the NFL. He was an assistant coach with the Saints and the Ravens. In 2001, he became the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. He became the second head coach of the Jaguars in 2003, succeeding the fired Tom Coughlin.
